Koskela is located at 1226 Johnson Street in Coquitlam, the former home of Mr. and Mrs. Koski.  Mr. and Mrs. Koski were passionate supporters of the Finnish-Canadian community in the Lower Mainland.  Indeed, their 5-acre Coquitlam farm played a crucial role during the early years of the FCRHA, as it frequently served as a gathering place for visionary Finns with big dreams and plans for the community.  Ultimately, the Koski family generously bequeathed their home to the Association, and in the process, created a legacy that would benefit many future generations.  Koskela, which means the Koski home in Finnish, honours the Koski family and their vision for a Finnish-Canadian community that shares its resources and supports those in need.
